Learn hundreds of nemonics and break down each part into its component meaning I was an instructor in over a dozen disciplines including being a mapric instructor specialist where you have to understand transverse Mercators and re grid a map using longitude and latitude, work a full array of signal equipment and use batco so the enemy doesn’t know what your saying. I was a panther and warrior DMI and gunnery instructor, range qualified the list is endless. Then as you move up the ranks you have the constant paperwork that’s needed to look after your troops, book rations plan a exercises deal with the endless admin that a platoon of blokes need. Then you can specialise which means learning a whole new job. You have to be able to work under immense pressure and problem solve in the middle of a battle with rounds and artillery landing all around you. that’s just a quick response off the top of my head. don’t ever think an infantry soldier is a stupid bullet stopper as you will be way off the mark. 8
