You reckon his coming out isn’t related? It’s entirely political imo.

It’s absolutely related mate, only yesterday I thought to myself “Hmm, I wonder how that conversation went ?”

to be british surely you need one british parent and to be born here ffs

The British are indigenous white European, so to be truly British you need two white British parents and at a push one white British and one white European and to be born in Britain.

what about service men that had there kids overseas but then came back to Britain

But that’s not what we are talking about is it mate although I take your point.

The gist of the conversation (as I understand it) is can a sub Saharan African be British and the answer is no in the true sense of the word.

I’m a white European, I can never be an African and vice versa……

I know mate and I’m always sensitive about how I undertake these conversations with you because you are an extremely nice bloke.

Just know that when I do talk about this stuff it’s without any hatred or ill will….it’s just what I believe.

I don’t want to offend anyone on purpose, I just speak honestly.

The good thing is that you are never a baby about it like some, you seem to understand that other people think differently and those thoughts won’t effect your life in the slightest ?

I understand what your saying.. but I think race and belonging to a country are two different things...

of course most of us on here are white European...I consider myself English..and we can describe our self's as such...

however I also think whatever your racial origins you can consider yourself as belonging to the country you live in or are brought up in

The idea of nation has been hijacked (imho) as a means to accepting people who don’t belong here…..nations are only about a 1000 years old anyway.

Britain is not a nation, being British isn’t open to all.

Now if an Asian want to call himself English or Welsh or Scots then he can do that…..but he will never be British, he can’t be, it’s impossible.

They are a resident of Britain born here or not and that all they will ever be.

The British are a race of people, you can’t assume a race.

They died out with Boudicia.

The Romans came who were from all over Europe and Africa and mixed and left their mark ‘ then the Angles - Saxons - Jutes.

Then the Vikings.

We stopped being truly Britonic 1600 years ago .

Dont worry I’ll make excuses

Fixed that for you ?

I would say I'm white European or white British. I view Britain as a country and a culture, I'm proud to be British, i feel anyone whom is brought up here and lives in open society rural or urban can be British. But it fills me with dread to see huge swathes of towns and even cities unrecognisable as even being British , far to much immigration for our tiny island and the lack of integration must be, one impossible when they number so many, and it appears to be a take over as opposed to integration in many towns and cities. So I'm culturist , I don't wish to have islam or any Pakistani culture or religious guff forced on my community , just as I don't want BLM politics or white woke shite forced on me , I'm British I know what I am and what I'm about and where I want to exist. I guess I would rather be amongst somewhat liked minded people. Regardless of colour, that said I don't associate with people of colour , I don't know any , but I guess I live in very white areas of the UK , i work alongside blokes of all colours, makes no odds to me. They're British or they're not
