Bloody Ferret!

posibly look for another biter that you can keep each other company with and tame booth

Yeh, great idea   I havent yet read a post of yours that isnt complete and utter shite....

I know what DS meens about not being able to trust a ferret once it has bitten a couple of times. I got one at the moment, when I got her she was a total looney, would bite any chance she got. She hasnt bit me for a good 4 months odd, yet I cant just reach down and pick her up without thought like the rest. She has that twinkle in her eye that I know if she had the chance she would bite.. I am thinking of rehoming her as it is getting on my nerves, wont be easy as I do like the old gal though.

If you have lost confidence in it, then I would do yourself a favour and get rid. No fun having a ferret that you cant be confident with.

Good luck with it,

accltually if you are going too shoot it well it depends how big it is if it is very small i will have it off you :thumbs; see if i can tame the little slut

So if the fert is small you,ll quite happily take it on  then if its biting you after 3 months you,ll kill the little slut anyway???? Im not one for slagging people of on forums but i think i have to agree with Hob & Jill on this one....

I've got a problem. My jill has always been a bit skitty, regardless of how much she's handled or worked. At one point a few months ago, she came damn close to getting on the wrong end of a .22. At the 11th hour, I felt pity and gave her one more chance. So I then made a point of handling her several times daily and she got better at being picked up, ie she didn't struggle so much, but you still had to be carefull as if she got the chance, she'd still bite & draw blood, for instance if you accidently put your free hand too close. I could put up with this as she isn't a bad worker, even though almost everytime she gets taken out, she usually kills. The problem is, since my hob went missing, she seems even worse. I feel the .22 solution is starting to look inevitable. I mean, what use to me or anybody is a ferret that you can't even check for ticks, etc, and likes to make you bleed? And yes, she gets plenty of raw meat & bone, infact thats all I feed her.

Just like to hear some thoughts off of some of the serious guys on here, not the messers, what would you guys do?

Do I do nothing, and keep getting chunks bitten out of my hands (like I've had tonight.) just because she's a good worker? Or do I do the inevitable? Answers on a postcard please.... (or PM)

It's up to you son. It depends on what you can put up with. I had a jill once that was a biter when excited. I just used to tail her into the box to quieten down then she was ok.

Now I wouldn't bother, I breed my own and have had no psychos. The best option might be Ditches, option of the .22, if you can live with it. I probably could. Good luck.

well iv not met one i cant handle if its as bad is malten says it is he keeps on going on about kiling it better to go too someone who will try i reackon i could get it soft as my lot in three months no need too disagree?

On 1 post you say kill the slut after 3 months of trying to tame it :icon_eek: i,m sure Maltenby is a experienced ferret keeper as most of the members on this part of the forum are & im sure he,s tried to tame the fert no different than you or i would.I cant see any reason why you would want to take the fert on providing its very small because if its still biting YOU after 3 months your going to kill "the little slut" ANYWAY !!What sort of ferret keeper refers to his jills as SLUTS it pisses me off some people think of these fantastic animals, part of a working team as expendable assests & i dont just mean ferts that are biters :realmad:

Learn? You are clearly mentally incapable of it.... All you seem to do is make stupid comments on about every fecking thread going.

You just have to look at the amount of posts, 35 posts today! Double the amount of anyone else! Quantity and quality dont go hand in hand

Its the constant drivel that members like you post, that drive the good ones away

and andy i wouldent normally refer too them as sluts the yare most sertanly not sluts but one taht only ever bites has obviously not been handled properly no disrespect too maltyby he is probably not at fault but i am looking for a small ferret becuse mine are big fits my looking for ill try for 3 months seems he has come too the end of his teather with her and IF he chooses too kill her i will take her and try surley it is worth it? if it is going too dye anyway?

So if you aquirre this fert & cant tame it what will YOU do with it then??Judging by your previous enlightend wisdom posts you,ll KILL it anyway :icon_eek: so why play the knight in shining armour??The point im trying to make is that Maltenby has asked the forum for advice & it has been given he would only be passing a bitting fert on to another owner who couldn,t do any different ANYWAY.If malts choses to end her life thats his business but im sure he would happier knowing he did it than some person offering her a lifeline then after 3months killing the poor thing anyway...............

but hunting has kept me out of trouble genrally and not drugs and stealing stuff as im an honest person but too call someone a wanker because teh ycalled a persistant biting ferret a slut well.

you no whats sad is tha tyou acctually looked how many posts i made :) chears

Are you drunk because your spelling is very strange :drink:Bit of advice my friend if you,ve got nothing decent to post dont bother as i think you are getting a lot of peoples backs up on this part of the forum. If your just learning you should do more listening as apposed to transmitting & are you a novice ferret keeper??If you are i have proved my point...think about it.....Goodnight Andy :bye:
