Stupid dog owners and the heatwave

Recommended Posts

Got a gwp and her coat is something else , I walk her early morning or late at night but even then never further than 5 minutes walk from water , luckily she’s like a duck and will happily swim round in circles for fun or just lay in streams , keeping her out of water is harder than coooling her down

Are the tiles cooler , Or have they absorbed the heat ? I know you bought your  dog over from uk but do you think that dogs living in hot countries get accustomed to it ?
where as  uk ones only get a hot summer once every 5 years ?

No clue mate… he’s a bloody strange one, always has been ?‍♂️?

Last night he was sleeping in dust as opposed to his bed, which I carried up a feckin mountain ?

At last years game fair I saved a labs life without a doubt .People crowded  round a choc lab having a fit ,wearing a check coat ffs .I stepped in shouted to clear some space and asked for the nearest tap .A bloke pointed and I scooped the dog up .Got there and ripped the coat off with owner screaming something .Ran the tap between the dogs back legs and after a while it came round ,tried to bite me but owner calmed it down .That dog was in middle stages of dehydration which kills through fitting and shutting down of organs until the heart is the last thing .

It made a full recovery and the owner wanted to buy me something which I refused .What a stupid thing to do .Dogs at shows are a silly statement and wearing coats even worse .

If any of you ever see a dog in trouble caused by heat ,cold water between the legs cools the blood faster than anything .Don’t let it drink too soon or it will omit badly .Small amounts often .

Jigsaw, what are the kelpie half breds like in this heat? My pure bred is currently in the garden room as she's in season. She keeps moving round to lie in the sunny spots. Mad cow!?

Constantly hyper, snow, heatwave rain, they just run, they flushed a deer out of a few trees yesterday morning, they don't seem to get too bothered by the heat, nevertheless in this heat,I curtail their activities to evening times

Mine was the same yesterday. Plodding along down to the valley floor, tongue hanging out, making out like he’s about to kaffle….. then he spots a roe and decides game on ?‍♂️?

No wonder he was fuucked. Have to say though he’s stiff today, plenty of muscle rubs and movement should see that fine.

Some folk are just plain stupid with dogs, Summer, or Winter....they just don't get it...?

We are lucky down here, as we are surrounded by water,...

I try to swim dogs every day ,...it certainly tires them out and after a good session,.. they settle down nicely.?

Mrs puts hose pipe on the flags were it's shady for the dogs all during the day it's somewhere cool for them to lay but there's also a paddling pool they can go in .mine are out first light and then when it starts going dark just a light walk to empty themselves can't believe how many dogs I see out during the day in this heat
