Vacuum Packer

Recommended Posts

Alright folks, I'm looking to purchase a vacuum packer for the forth coming season. Any of you lads use them and if so what make or model would you recommend. It'll be used for the usual edible game including fish and fowl.

I bought a Geryon one in the winter. Fantastic bits of kit imo. Make packaging looks half professional when giving meat away. Think I just bought the best selling one on Amazon. Can be a bit of a knack to it but I'm happy so far.

I want to try the compostable bags to reduce my use of single use plastic.

I had an Aobosi one. Guts of fifty quid, on Amazon. So, while not even pretending to be 'Industrial', it wasn't a cheap chat either.

I was chuffed to bits with it, at first. Then it broke down, in pretty short order :(

Accepting that shit can happen, I told them and was happy to accept a replacement :)

That one broke down! I fukked it off back and got my money back. I still have rolls of the fukking bags knocking about here.

Just bought a cheap one this morning for doing bits and pieces at home, got an industrial one that sucks the granny out of anything that's put in the chamber but it weighs a ton and costs thousands.

Chamber ones are the ones to have but aint cheap. Also look for double seal bars.

The cheap ones are OK if for out home and for a few days but don't hold out and will lose the seal

That's what I have at work, everything is double vacked though as even with a couple of grand machine now and again you get a bag that loses its seal.

I think it's normally down to the bag tbh when that happens; we use it on a 30 sec cycle and vac thousands of bags and very very few fail.

Does your work one have a double seal bar mackem?

Yes mate, double sealer, got my old one and a few thousand bags on a pallet from Amsterdam, can't remember the micron of the old bags now but they were thick ?

I don't know the microns but could pick it out of a line up ?

The other thing I've noticed some do is out too much in a bag or try and seal too close to the top ... these always fail in my experience
