Had one when I was a boy, .177, it was my Dads originally, not sure if it was just mine or they were all low, but mine was nowhere near 12ft lb.

I could be wrong but I think the only thing that made it a major was the adjustable rear sight!!

Very sweet to use, light and easy, sold mine to a dealer about 14 years ago.
