Qbgrey 4,170
Having seen deers the last time near my house about 40yrs ago I was told by a guy who’s land joins mine he saw a deer last week. I’ve been getting up early to try and catch a glimpse, this morning it was in his field about 200 metres away. No antlers, had a tail and was ginger ish????? Fallow doe??? ( we are south east) is it normal for just 1 to be alone and perhaps it’s pregnant???? Any info most grateful. I’m buzzing about these animals hopefully coming back Quote Link to post
Borr 6,527
I don't know, but a lone deer I'd guess at roe. Take a picture, roe has black nose and white chin 2 Quote Link to post
jok 3,364
Ginger . Sounds more like Chinese Water deer especially in that area. They are more likely to be solitary. Jok. 1 Quote Link to post
sussex 5,777
Ginger …I’d put my money on a roe , the fallow doe’s will be in summer coat and generally have a dappled/spotted coat .The fallow will be starting to drop their young , the roe are just about finishing , she may well have a couple of kids tucked up close by ..they will have a spotted coat for the first six weeks or so . 1 Quote Link to post
