Lovely mate, looks brilliant ?

Also makes a nice change to see someone genuinely camping now that @socks has gone all “Gay Glamping” on us……

Should've raked it across the ground a few times and took three mil off it , petty sods , I couldn't find my big knife , eventually found it behind the passenger seat in motor, world's gone mad , I used to go off in the woods with a machete at 10yr old. Spain has a knife culture I guess it's their ineffective way of dealing with it same as ours...

I'd have sold my soul to you at 3am for the inflatable double mattress and a glass of Chardonnay ?

Has anyone tried the self inflating mattresses in Go Outdoors? I've always done overnight camps win the woods with a hammock and tarpaulin but I've bought a 2 man tent to use on Exmoor, Dartmoor and the Somerset coast, so far using a 3" foam mattress. Very comfy but takes up too much space unless I can get the car close. I use a gas ring mostly but i've just ordered a little stainless steel multifuel burner which packs flat, should be here on monday so I'll try it next week.

I'll be honest it was a great day, much needed father and son time, although being rather vigilant I gave them plenty of freedom and responsibilities. I was a bit rusty would do a few things differently, especially food wise,  They stayed up until half ten, I was in bed not much later they went straight down as thought might have been a few issues but were none , I didn't sleep more than about 30 minutes, couldn't get comfy and checking on them etc had cramps legs killing me realised it was squatting at fire and tent entrance ?. Had a wicked siesta today , they had a 2 hour kip in car with missus lol. Home ,BBQ lit looking forward to a few ciders....?

Good on you for getting the lads out and about, that's making good memories. My grandad and uncles used to take me and a few cousins in an ex army tent, grandad would dig a firepit by a stream, fill it with embers and put in a couple of metal cake tins with whole chickens or rabbits in, chopped spuds and carrots. Cover with more embers and let it go for about 2 hours. Greens cooked in a cast iron pot. The same pot would be used to make bread every morning, eaten warm with fried eggs and a bit of proper fat bacon.

Don’t bother. Get an Intex blow up. Good quality and not a break the balls price when it pops ;)

Cheers, I had an idea earlier, my favourite spot is also where I have permission to use an air rifle, might be worth rigging up a filler for the airbed from the PCP air bottle!

If you want it to go pop lol ?

I only use it when we camp on the beach or on a campsite but I recommend get yourself a 20quid electric pump, they run on batteries and are the dogs bollocks ;)

Get yourself a decent mat with a good R rating. Most of them now are designed where the stuff sack turns into the inflater so blowing up takes no effort at all.
