dogman 5
Hi can anyone help me? I am looking for a product to recoat my wax jacket. I have already tried NIKWAX spray on waterproofing, but I had the coat on in the bad weather this weekend and I was soaked right through, so I am looking to try something else, has anybody used anything that has actually worked and you have managed to stay dry? Any suggestions Thanks
Caravan Monster 323
Get some Barbour reproofing wax- works a treat. I do mine every year.
masmiffy 82
Barbour wax is great. Follow the instructions and its easy! I have cheated and have stuck my Jacket (a 25 year old Solway) in the tumble drier for a bit before I start. Or use an old hairdryer to warm it before applying the wax. Did once send it back to Barbour for a re-proof and repair superb job superb service!
david2363 42
True, Gore tex is light waterproof and breathable. The army wear Gore tex - can't see them in Barbour somehow.
dogman 5
Thanks for the info. I have a Gore tex jacket as well direct from a mate in the forces and I also have got wet wearing that, so I could do with something to put on that as well.
