lanesra 3,994
Nice pair of whippets, strong looking types!........ After reading through this months EDRD and looking though various field sports magazines and papers over the last year or two, the Mike Browns working, Whippets, seem very popular.......seems theres alot of pups about :hmm: The word working seems symonomous with them? why is this? I wonder How do you find them lads, and have you worked or owned whippets before? i no no one will like this but no one has balls to say it. everyone here hates puppy peddlers so why buy dogs of one yes he is a genuin lovely to your face type of bloke same with hancock they havnt created the species there not god. they worked them when they where younger so what 2 dogs and about 6 or 7 bitches bread and not worked so what he has a couple of picters to show of of the olden days and pups hes bread is this not puppy pedling so why does everyone get on high horses when they see a litter for sale nothing persona.l There are equaly as good dogs bread by good dog men out there like are selves and you can all say what you like as you say its a forum and everyone is intitled to an epinion cheers blue boy your right mate some good dogs bread by good dog men .... the people i spoke to about mike browns whippets before i got one couldnt encourage me enough to get 1...believe me mate some of them are good dog men ... respect your opinion mate fair play to you havin the balls to air it... though he is no hancock...just my view mate. taffey 1,315
the reason i. got a mike brown bred dog is ive always fancied a whippet i had orded one of mike nearly 20 years ago but my circumstances changed at the time and i couldnt get it . i had a whippet type and a three quarter whippet/grey beblington which were great little workers especially ferreting /bushing .ive got a 9 year old greyhound quarter beddie ive had since a pup i thought it time to bring a pup on for next season so thats when i decided to ring mike ,he explained when his litter was due and i orded my pup jake now 11 months i know you cant please everybody in the dog game but i take people as i find them i ve only been to mikes 3 times but he makes you welcome and doesnt meet you at the door with pup take your money and shut door in your face. as far as the whippets are concernd you can only give them the best start in life food wise etc train them to the best of your abilty and the rest should come naturally, my pup is eager to please hes good with the ferrets learnt to watch the beam on the lamp he catches more than he misses ive not done much with him because of his age ive had 1 blue hare on mountain but not tried him on there brown cousins till next season when he s ready .lanesra and me will keep yous posted on the dogs progress . p.s. its took me half an hour to do this post thats why i dont post to often i think E.T. type quicker good hunting lads and lasses :gunsmilie: Quote Link to post

Obviously hes not going to answare the door with pups in his hand dont be stupid. sooty sam is the only proven dog hes had in the shows mainly and all the others are proven puppy machines he knows the score hes sold thousands of pups its like a routine to him now i dont want to get in a argument so ill let you get on buying pups of peddlers Quote Link to post

Guest little lurcher
all depends whether you want reg or not , un reg about 200/250 kc reg 350/500? these would be from proven lines though , with kc reg at least you get to shove one in the eye at the show folk, a worker in the ring , or racing /coursing lines i suggest you contact pennymeadow whippets , or parkstone whippets , both are excellent dogmen whom know their lines inside out , they could also give you pointers to where to go for a pup Quote Link to post
