Working German shepherds

Anybody have working shepherds on here? Looking for information on them on internet ie lines and breeders decent books or forums , everything seems to be the state’s or Eastern Europe.

I was under the impression that they tended to use Belgian melinos now days because of all the breed faults German Shepards have. when they are using German shepherds it’s always imported lines they use that was the impression I got. But can’t help on lines of gsd I’m clueless pal. But one day I’d love a Mali though I’m thinking when Lurchers are done I’d like to try one as I like that kind of dog if i could give it the time they require failing that a sausage dog just as a pet would do me

That's a fair point, you deff got to buy a gsd pup from working lines from East Europe, where bred for function, not looks., like the crap from the KC. Buck dam, got East Europe lines in her ped, good temp, healthy, good hips etc, his father well bred greyhound razzmatazz, do he just hybrid =lurcher. But being honest, I think unless you buy a gsd pup from proper working lines as above  as I've said E/E, as guard dog or police/army I would bother. But if you wanted just one in lurcher line, I deff try a Dutch Shepard, they great healthy breed, not over bred, still kept good qualities, full on type temp, good coat/feet, not over big 25 in 60 - 70 lb, put that to greyhound or whippetx grey, you get great lurcher deff. I've seen Dutch shepard bitch, few years ago, and was very impressed with her. I reckon just as clever as any collie, but more grit about them.

The only downside what I've seen wi gsd and the crosses is that the owners often appear quite strange

That’s what I’ve been trying to find more info about, ddr Czech east European lines , I know someone who had black Czech bitches but had them kennelled all the time so didn’t really do much with them, I think they would make a decent guard ,house ,and mouching dog

He was from an X Croatian police dog to an imported bitch,.....he was an evil,jealous,vindictive ,unstable prick,...and their his good points,he killed 2 terriers on me ,savaged my lurcher and attacked one of my pits ,(big mistake for him)...I hated him from day one,he kept unwanted out but there was a price to pay
