Fellman Mark 607
Right lads looking at getting one of these rifles for stalking and making my .243 a dedicated night rifle for foxes what’s the pro and cons on both please Quote Link to post
FOXHUNTER 5,021
6.5 creed is the fashionable calibre at the minute will serve you well. I hate the .270 ....recoil is awful.. 1 Quote Link to post
FOXHUNTER 5,021
Or keep the .243 for stalking and get a .22/250 for foxing 1 Quote Link to post
Stavross 15,349
I’ve used a 6.5 creedmoor and I was very impressed with it, the distance it shoots out to and how accurate it was out to them distances was unbelievable, it’s almost to much rifle for any shooting situation ( this is just my opinion, please don’t pick on me to much ) like FH said .243 to me is the ideal deer calibre for what we shoot around here, if you were wanting to go bigger animals then the 6.5 would be what I would go for 1 Quote Link to post
Fellman Mark 607
Was leaning towards the 270 as I didn’t want to be a sheep and follow the fashion 1 Quote Link to post
Fellman Mark 607
I’ve shot my mates creed but not sure I could face telling him I’ve got one after calling him gay for having a gaymore 5 Quote Link to post
Stavross 15,349
Follow the fashion mate, all the keepers I know use them now on fox because of the distance and the stopping power of them 1 Quote Link to post

Sausagedog 7,381
I shot the creed to 600yds the other week and yep it was impressive but in all honesty it wasn't much different to another friends 270. I haven't looked but I wouldn't be at all surprised if 25-06 trumped them both! 2 Quote Link to post

ianm 2,594
I have used a mates 25/06 and liked it. Bullet weights are a bit close though at 90grn to 130grn and the same rifle won’t shoot them at either end of the scale. It will either shoot the lower weights well or the upper weights well but not both. Quote Link to post
