any idea what these were used for

i am going to make a garden table using a large slab of granite for the table top.but my question is what were these two steel rollers used for.there too narrow to fit on a railway track.

Will they fit narrow gauge track? If not look like for a saw mill feeding the trunks. Or a steel works etc

to be honest i dont know if they will fit narrow tracks.i got them out of a stud farm house /farm that was built in 1871.

The old local line to me the l&b was 1ft 11 1/2 inches wide if that is any help ??‍♂️ The roller seems to be on a handle for some reason

took measurements from outer wheel to outer wheel 27.5 inches wide.

They look heavy duty so my guess would be to hold and move rolls of sheet metal of some type ?

i got a good few offers to sell them down the yrs,they will be a summer project now.turning them into a  garden table.

Will be some sort of makers stamp/mark... probably on the wheels...you not taken the dimensions of it all and banged it in a search engine? Could be worth a fair bit as a pair?...ask@baker boy
