T78 4
did a search on ferret colours and found this little gem hidden in a "guide" to keeping ferrets! ""You can also get kits easily from dealers, and he or she will be happy to advise you about care of the ferret, Think twice about buying a ferret from working stock. These aren’t usually as well handled, or gently handled, and may have a fear of humans. Also, because they are from working stock, the tendancy to bite will be bred into them. If you fall in love with a working ferret kit, by all means take it home, but an adult working ferret is a different matter, as not only will it seldom make a good pet, its unlikely be to neutered and moreover, will probably never be a happy pet, having been used to lots of running around after rabbits. However, finding a ferret breeder is not an easy task. "" i wasn't sure if i should or Quote Link to post

Guest Ditch_Shitter
PLEASE PUT THE LINK UP SO WE CAN EMAIL THE MUPPIT THAT WROTE THIS AND EXPLAIN HOW MISINFORMED THEY ARE. Sadly, a waste of time and effort, Woz. There's a whole generation and a half now, brought up on this shit. It's fed from mother to child and taught in schools. That " Muppet " would simply consider Us as " Neanderthals with a Blood Lust. " And then publish the more 'Emotional' missives on that same site. Quote Link to post

flame 0
"rescued"2 young adults off a dealer a few weeks back. they were just skin and bone and would bite as soon as look at you.one had to be syringe fed lactol every couple of hours or so for first couple of days and then put on wet kitten food. they are both as fit as fcuk now eat anything and leap out for a fuss as soon as cage door is opened. the kids are arguing at the min cos one wants to race them and the other one wants to take them out with the lurcher. i dont see why they cant do both but if they werent arguing over that it'd be over something else i suppose! Malt 379
I cant believe the crap that some people come up with! Any animal will be alot happier if it's allowed to do what comes naturally. To say that a working animal will probably never be a happy animal is bullsh*t! Whats more cruel? Letting a dog/ferret use it's senses to the full, letting if chase or track it's prey, then rewarding it, or never giving the animal the chance to use what nature gave it over 1000's of years of evoloution. I know what I'd rather do.... As for saying that a working animal has 'had the tendency to bite bred into it'! WTF! Its obvious that whoever wrote that knows absolutely nothing about the breeding of animals. Working animals tend to bite LESS, because any animal that showed ANY sign of aggresion toward humans, was rarely bred from, and in most cases the animal would have been desroyed. If people want to keep ferrets as pets, that's up to them, but they should at least have the decency to know what they are on about & get there facts straight before spouting their bullshit to the masses. Do you know what the worst thing about this? The more popular that the ferret gets as a pet, the more idiots & self appointed 'experts' are going to spring up. Quote Link to post
