Only on general licence in England ..they are an absolute pest for our native hole nesting birds .

A mount i got done by a local lady(who's also easy on the eye) for a keeper i know who found it when we were out hole checking one day,cock blackbird..

Going to make a head dress out of them when I've enough !

I think I have put a pic on here of one my mate got with his catty?Had quite a few with an air rifle.

I’ve known him for years, have gifted him all sorts of dead birds, mainly owls.  Nearly all of the items in the house are native birds, although he was doing some Albertross/Shearwater/Petrol mounts for a London museum exhibition last time i was round.  Couldn’t believe the wingspan of some of those, longer than Eagle easy.  The real skill in bird taxidermy is the ‘mounting and feathering ‘ at the end to get the bird looking lifelike.  The skinning and cleaning is relatively easy....check out Elle Kaye taxidermist....she is a real talent on small birds and is easy on the eye !!

I did magpies as a kid, and helped with a tawny owl, always been interested in taxidermy ?

Yes, I’ve dabbled a bit.  Done a couple of Barn owls and some hooded crows.
