I have absolutely no doubt that there are outstanding individuals working in the NHS, but as an institution it’s in rag order and that is in no small measure down to this mantra of “if only we had more money”……it’s a f***ing disease in the NHS and now we are at at a point where the staff actually believe it ! Even the great individuals are no doubt shackled by the mediocrity of most of those around them and that runs deep in the veins of the service. They dare not and probably in many cases are prevented from being as good as they can be because if they did that, it makes everyone look bad and those around them may have to actually hold themselves to a higher standard……a break from the culture like that would be frowned upon. So the “We know it’s shit, but if we had more money it would be fantastic….so, not our fault” mindset continues. “Sorry you caught MRSA, not enough money to clean properly you see” ”Sorry your wife died in child birth, the funding just isn’t there” ”Sorry your foods cold and inedible, the black cook only gets £9 an hour….if he had £9.50 he’d heat it up” “Sorry your daughter had 5 broken bones in her food and we totally missed it…..a grand more and we’d have seen every single one !” Total and utter nonsense mate ! 7

Luckily my misses out the danger zone but she wouldn't have made it through the night if I hadn't took her myself . What the fcuk do we pay taxes for ? Bosun11 537
Stung by the NHS today... Just over 12 months ago I was percribed blood pressure tablets by my GP. Went on the pre-payment scheme as it made cost effective sense. What I didn't realise is that it required renewal on the 10th of December last year. My local pharmacy know me well enough to know I'm on the scheme when collecting and on the 4th January this year, I went in to collect. Got the usual 'oh, your pre-pay' to which I, none the wiser, replied yes, was handed my prescription and off I went... Next prescription was in March, different girl behind the counter and she asked if I was pre-pay, I replied yes and took out my phone with a screen shot of my certificate, only to find it had run out back in December. No worries, I happily paid there and then and off I went. Today got a letter about January's prescription, saying my pre-pay had ran out, and there was a number to call to pay. I rang the number to pay my nine quid, only to find I couldn't... I had to wait to recieve another letter, to then pay the money, AND a forty plus quid fine..! I tried to explain it was a simple, genuine mistake and I'd be happy to pay for my medication, I really wasn't trying to shirk anything BUT was told, no excuses, no mistakes and no second chances. Pay the bill and the fine or it will double within 28 days BUT if I wanted, she could/would sign me up for another 12 months pre pay BUT the charges were still the same, on top..!! Feck that, feck her and feck the NHS... I'll pay direct from now on, even if it does cost more. I'd rather that than be stung again for a genuine oversight...

TRUEBRIT66 1,663
Sad thing is there isn't family in this country that aren't having a similar conversation. Our surgery wont even book you in for a face to face with a doctor anymore and a telephone consultation is hit and miss and the receptionist are just plain rude. My wife had lumps come up in her mouth and neck that progressively got worse over a number of weeks they told her 3 weeks for a telephone call and told to go to A&E. We had to rock up at the clinic and refused to leave until she was seen by a doctor who then googled her symptoms and medication!!! There was no one in the waiting room for the hour we waited and 3 GP's on site so what the hell are they doing ? The receptionists on duty spent most of their time ignoring calls, giggling behind the counter or telling people that arrived they couldn't see a doctor because of COVID. My mother has been waiting 2 and a half years for a hip operation its so bad now she has no bone joining her leg to the hip and its just held on by tissue and muscle but they have just told her its been delayed by another 6 months. NHS 5th biggest employer in the world but we are short staffed and under funded work that one out. Clap for them my arse I wouldn't give them the steam off my piss at this moment in time ! 4

DIDO.1 22,845
Mate phoned up as he had found a lump on his bollock. Receptionist made him tell her about the lump and where it was.....she then said "what type of lump is it"......understandably upset at this point he told her he was a joiner not a doctor and he needed to see a GP ASAP. She offered him a telephone consultation the NEXT day! The GP will phone you between 12 and 6pm So bad you have to laugh. Same time all the lefties are screaming that we aren't doing enough to get hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians here ASAP....thats not including the 140 young African men living in a hotel a mile up the road. What's the answer? I know it, you know it but not 1 single mp is even suggesting anything close. The sandymeres of this world want more immigration, more building, more borrowing, more more more more more........ 13

When you call ambulance for your misses because she can not breath and looks to be going into some kind of coma and ambulance refuses to come as they say its not life threatening so stay at home . Only to find once I drove her there she'd have never made it through the night if I hadn't took her in myself Dedicated people lol

There are at least 20 million people in Britain that shouldn’t be there, could that also be part of the problem ? Like trying to pour 10 gallons of water into a 5 gallon bucket ?
