Driving up to whitby today. Will definitely call in at robinhoods Bay .

I use to work in bay hotel at bottom when I was at school and go out on the cobbles doing the nets and pots! Was a great place for a young lad:) 2
WILF 47,226
I love anything like that, amazing stuff. If anyone is ever in Birchington in Kent (near Manston) then a little known gem tucked away is the Cotton Powell museum. Adventurer, Hunter, collector……it’s out of this world and I would highly recommended it to anyone.

I shall visit that sometime, I was lucky enough to be invited to the home in Toronto years ago of a guy TV studios called the real life indiana Jones, he had the largest private collection of shrunken human heads.

There’s is a chair and a table in there that belonged to Napoleon! As well as collections of everything from elephants to ants, tribal weapons, art, a massive collection of rifles, pistols, Chinese stuff, Japanese…..just way too much to list mate, it’s amazing.
eastcoast 4,154
1 of may favourite books that is basically an inventory of some of the collection, photograph and illustration heavy. Great for outside on warm summer evenings when you cannot be bothered to talk to anyone and most respect that you have your nose studiously buried in a book but in reality getting pleasantly sozzled looking at pictures of guns.
