its a rare place.. did you see the section of weapons confiscated from the Leeds fans  :icon_eek:

not sure how long your up at Whitby for but its my neck of the woods..

robin hoods bay is only ten mins away and its a lovely little old fishing village with a mint beach!

if you've got kids with you you can go jet hunting at low tide, look behind the big rocks in the cracks and if you walk to the right of the slipway you'll get to an area where the seals breed.. you can walk right up to them

I've fairly gone through some money just me and the lad in two days away, it adds up. If the Mrs had come we would have been eating in restaurants as well so it would of been expensive. Luckily me and

Nice one ? I've got a lot of fond memories of the place from  my first school trip to  taking my own kids there regularly as they were growing up.

I use to work in bay hotel at bottom when I was at school and go out on the cobbles doing the nets and pots! Was a great place for a young lad:)

I love anything like that, amazing stuff.

If anyone is ever in Birchington in Kent (near Manston) then a little known gem tucked away is the Cotton Powell museum.

Adventurer, Hunter, collector……it’s out of this world and I would highly recommended it to anyone.

I shall visit that sometime, I was lucky enough to be invited to the home in Toronto years ago of a guy TV studios called the real life indiana Jones, he had the largest private collection of shrunken human heads.

There’s is a chair and a table in there that belonged to Napoleon!

As well as collections of everything from elephants to ants, tribal weapons, art, a massive collection of rifles, pistols, Chinese stuff, Japanese…..just way too much to list mate, it’s amazing.

1 of may favourite books that is basically an inventory of some of the collection, photograph and illustration heavy. Great for outside on warm summer evenings when you cannot be bothered to talk to anyone and most respect that you have your nose studiously buried in a book but in reality getting pleasantly sozzled looking at pictures of guns.
