Hunted wallabies in Goyt valley and shot them near Marlow. my old lurcher once caught a heron, but if i tell the story here, some will think I read it in a book! Id heard about wallabies in that area. Visited many times camping but never saw any. Don't think there has been any sightings for years. I think they suffered badly in those two bad winters we had around 2010. Did you course any? Quote Link to post

Yes thats why I said I hunted them there, but shot them near Marlow. They were never easy to find and travelled long distances in the high peak. I used to get upto date info from keepers in the area. 1 Quote Link to post

Aussie Whip 4,097
Not UK but moved up the coast NSW for 9months with around an acre house block. The whippets and terrier killed everything in the yard including blue tongue lizards, snakes, quail, rats, mice, bandicoots, a flying fox bat, doves, possums and almost a koala but I saved it in time. No rabbits up that way so no work for the dogs and shows what happens when they are bored. They did catch one rabbit in the bush up there but it was a escaped pet angora, lol. Glad to be back out west now. 1 Quote Link to post

socks 32,253
When I was a kid my old man had a terrier that would collect frogs … when you cleaned out his kennel in the back under the straw you could find up to a dozen at any one time. 3 Quote Link to post

Any one heard off old Ted? He not been on in a while 3 Quote Link to post

Think they were actually souslik rather than marmots but its what we called them. They were escapees from an enclosure by the Bison paddock. Odd one went through the fence to the downs where we wandered with a ferret and a few nets. An interesting area of scrub where the unusual was usual. 1 Quote Link to post
