Does it carry the shine at all, like true oil or just sink in for a little added protection like Danish oil.... Got any more pics? Quote Link to post

Hi, sorry had some long shifts and not had time during the last few days. Iv given it 3 coats so far and it's soaking in really well - no shine yet and looks miles better protected. I will do another couple of coats and put a pic up on Friday, I don't know if the camera will pic it up but I can see a great improvement. It was very dry and looked like it would absorb water when new. Quote Link to post

Gotta check it out.. Quote Link to post

Premium Grade Gun Stock oil 2 bottles. WWW.EBAY.CO.UK New handy size 30 ml bottles to fit into your gun case pocket with easy pour dropper spout. It's... I'm putting it on a little bit at a time and working it in with my bare hands. It's going in really nicely and I'm very pleased with it. I did not want to use tru oil on it as I like it as it is. Seems good stuff considering it was cheap too. 1 Quote Link to post
philpot 5,062
My old clay shooting friend used to give his stocks a lift every few years using a tiny amount of linseed on his hands rubbing it in hade his hands quite hot but the effect was lovely. I did it once many many years ago, not as good a stock as his gun at thet time but nevertheless I was very pleased. An old gunmaker in sheffield where I used to live also used this method to finish his stock work although not sure what oil he used. Phil Quote Link to post
