Getting that thing hung up made all the difference there I recon...

I gather all that fur has got to be cut away and none can be pulled?

Looked some weight in the pelt too..!

Nice bit of film, thanks for putting it up ?

Yes, and apparently they are the perfect bait for black bear, saw quite a few freshly gnawed trees earlier but didn't see a beaver.

Would be nice to see there numbers increase in the UK I know they have been introduced back in the wild in a few places, wouldn’t mind getting one into my smoker ?

Yep their pretty decent sized critters. The smallest group me on the truck was probably 45lbs and that's the one she got. Mine was probably 50lbs. Alot of the fur actually can be pulled if your good. Most of the time you can scout off the feet with pruning shears in zip them and peel them out on the belly then flip the over. Then you can stand on the tail and pull the fur up towards the head. Works really well if your a taller person and got the feet off but I stalled out on the feet ?? Didn't have any pruners and I didn't just cut through the joints and pull the feet off like the others did ?

And yes people do eat them ! Actually had three or four conversations on the subject and everyone talked about how the back straps out of a beaver are 3x better then beef ! Would have took some off these Beaver but they where not nr freshest ?

Not to mention we had a crawfish boil and I was still pretty stuffed ??

Dogs love em too ! Anytime I evey beaver i home a beaver the minute it's done skinning my dogs will eat the carcasses like candy ! And their well fed. Actually remember a fell who caught alot for control work and started making dog food by cooking the meat with rice and lentils I think and then freezing them in nice little plastic containers with some fancy little logo.  100% organic non GMO free ranged yadda yadda yadda. Apparently them yuppies in the subdivisions kept him bought out !
