Energy price rise 2022

Recommended Posts

So today the price of energy goes up by 54% what are you guys doing to help keep the cost of your energy bills In your house hold from spiral to high

my kids are terrible for leaving lights on in our house I’ve even joked about family torches that I’ll charge using solar lol my youngest thinks it’s a great idea

me an my misses won’t boil the kettle if the log burner is going instead we used the camping type kettle on the top of the stove but that’s only when the weather outside permits the burner to be going we turn all house hold plugs off at night

Any hints an tips that you guys will be doing would be appreciated??????

Mrs just informed me that our monthly electric bill know costs us more than our mortgage per month ?... At this rate...be a few of us turning to our old criminal means to keep going??

Cut all my own wood for heating, keep a kettle on the stove for washing dishes and making brews and will be getting on with my solar panels ASAP also going to start shopping for what I need when I nee

My mate has knocked off his hot tub which was costing £100 a month, he's got solar trimmed back to the extent that meter goes backwards some of the time. Personally when home I cooked on the smoker/BBQ outside saves using oven hob , gonna get rid of old chest freezer and get a modern upright freezer, other than that not much else other than lights/appliances off when not needed make sure they're decent energy rating....

I've just got round to fitting draught excluder around the doors, and filled holes in the back of the kitchen units with expanding foam.

I went around with a lighter and couldn't believe the draughtsI found !

The rolls of foam tape and cans of foam were cheap as chips from Amazon, and there is a very noticeable difference.

My gas /electric bills have gone up by £60 a month, but my pension has only gone up by less than £3 a week, so any savings is welcome.

Cheers.

I think the £3,500 MPs get towards their energy bills might take the edge off their suffering

Poor buggers, I don't know how they manage! Good thing they voted through that payrise for themselves ;)

I'll probably crack on as normal then, see where we are at the start of May.

......... at the moment, we're a few hundred quid in credit.

I'd recommend taking a picture of your meters today, showing the reading and the serial number incase the supplier tries to take the piss later.
