Another fatality by a house pet

The dog in the case I referred to had already bitten another adult female at the house and mauled a dog o the street .

apparently the lad who owned it was in the army and would take it on physical training . Weighed 40kg

What chance was a grandmother half cut on news years eve ever gonna do to that clamped into that little girl ?

she was that badly damaged that the first paramedics and copper on scene had to attend counselling and the family weren’t allowed into see her .

how awful is that ???

All for the sake of it not being in a coal shed and run , insanity

I actually read the OP and was totally 'meh, another day another shitty headline' and moved along. I've read before yours and others words on the incident you reference above and just sort of registered it and moved on in a similar way. But after reading that post for some reason it hit me very graphically how f***ing utterly disturbing it must have been to deal with. A scene of a little girl literally mutilated by an animal... Jesus Christ.

Exactly mate, I wouldn’t own a spaniel either…..you have to know what types of dogs you get on with in my very humble opinion mate.

I couldn't handle the stress of keeping such weapons, I'd end up flattening everything. The only people that should own such dogs are those with the commitment and passion that specific working/performance type needs. A lot of dog work appeals to me but part of life is figuring out which ones you can actually tolerate/handle day to day. Anything else is best left as a 'tag-a-long' affair. f**k me it does me in a dog yapping excitedly in the yard, never mind having one come out the kennel to kill me. I know I don't have the temperament for that.

I like a bull breed about me for no reason other than I like them. Over the years I've had a full pit from the Scotsmans Max dog, then one of your man Plummers alaunts and now a boerbol/bull cross. I liked them all, they were all reared and socialised correctly and were in no way a status symbol but I knew what they were capable of and acted accordingly, if they haven't f****d up yet then assume it's coming down the line.

I used to keep German/ Dutch Doberman’s and I have had EBTs and even a poxy staff (my wife’s when I met her ) over my lifetime, none of them ever bothered me and that’s even after my big dog Doberman went for a neck hold on me.

Luckily I managed to lift my arm and jam that in his mouth so he bit that instead of my neck, never a bother.

But a proper formula 1 pit dog is imho (and uneducated opinion) not something to be trifled with and if it don’t have an outlet for it’s nature then something is going to go wrong, and if it gos wrong it going very wrong indeed.

Jmho

Some of them i saw in the 80s and early 90s having them as pets was a bad idea imho though a mate of mine was churning them out for the money after buying a bitch off Ed Reid next thing nearly every club doorman in Rotherham owned one though the faze soon died out.

My pup seems bit down in the dumps today tail in between legs all day not really excited with the kids sitting in middle of lawn just staring at me won’t come inside seems like she’s depressed ?

I know still settling in but f**k me she’s being a right grumpy little git.

is puppy depression a thing ?

had pups before and there usually leaping and bounding like a mad dog

Never had whippet before is it a thing ?
