i never fly mine if its too windy mate, the bird either cant fly good against the wind or can over shoot with the wind behind it, i think fitness comes into up to a point, i guess its your own discrestion(excuess the spelling! :icon_redface: )

hi nightshadow i know what you mean about the weather, im lucky tho if i carnt go out with the birds, i go out with the dogs or gun, my old female use to love the wind i also had some great days out with her in the wind ,i also think the females can handle the wind better than the males obviousiy because of the weight difference, young birds also struggle with the wind but if you dont fly them in it then they canot get use to it , i live on the coast so there is normally a good bit of wind out on any day round here, so i say just use your loaf mate if you think its to bad dont fly her you know your own bird mate .

we're having dreadful wind too but my fhh buzzes in it. She does get a bit naughty and just plays up high soaring and messing about but im not complaining.. Maybe it'd annoy me if she was my only bird. Tend not to risk the youngsters and the falcons and the owls just look horrified at the thought! Like Wag ive other things to amuse me. Ratting with my Patterdale is current favourite!

A saying I keep in mind is "If the winds too high, do not fly", the weather has been crap, and stoped play for a good few days for us!!! Wind and rain in my book make for a dull day indoors  Such is life. I will fly my FHH in the wind but not if its too blustery, what seems calm at home can turn out to be bad news on my ground as most of its high up.....such is life
