chartpolski 24,828
Not that interested in Crufts, but I was channel surfing and saw it was the hound group, so watched it. The winner, Greyhound, and reserve, Whippet, were exactly what I expected, show dogs with no visible definition. It was interesting to see some of the more "exotic" hounds though, like the podenco, sloughi, Ibizan, pharaoh , etc, but I doubt they could be of any use lurcher breeding. They also showed the Terrier winner, an Irish Terrier, and I thought it was a terrible example of the breed; no substance to it, skinny, gangly and snipey, looks like another breed ruined by the K.C. ! I've judged enough Whippet and lurcher shows to know you can't judge just by looking, you've got to get your hands on them, but there was nothing there to impress me. Cheers. Quote Link to post
