Love th bait shop

One if my favorite things to do since I was a little kid was to go to the bait shop in town. Had to come into today because some crap happen d and my 100gal bait tank now has a ince if water in it so Ineed to get some water treatment and some extra odds and ends. Same folks been owning it since I could remember and man it's just something about buying stuff outta there instead of Walmart that just makes it so much better.

I first saw a cast-net used in Dal Lake years ago, a subsistence fisherman catching loads of small fish with a hand-made net, the first one I owned I got from the states, just checked the local cabela's have them in

You'll love cast netting! Especially once you learn how to do it one handed ! Even used to use mine to catch ducks and chickens when they got out

I used to get them from wanchai wet-market, eaten them in a few countries, there was even a fish and chip shop in Pennywell in North-East England sold them, nice to be honest, I ain't a food snob, I would eat a scabby horse.

Live baits are frowned upon for some species (maybe banned) but are used for others.

Not in sea angling, all the bait we use is proper bait ... live worms, crabs,prawns and frozen fish if we can't get live

Get a 4 ft one to start off with,i have one and a brilliant thing it is to.Took me half hour to get the real suss of it and it's small enough to cast just about anywhere yet big enough to catch small fish for live baiting for Bass (sea bass),a old member on here " Richie" gave it me and he had a Brazilian wife who's family use them regular and if your reading this Richie from afar hope all is good in life mate?.. Recon with a bit of savy you'd catch a covey of partridges with one to as well as like wolfdog says ducks chickens etc, i have just remembered a fella who boat fishes local to where i boat fish and he uses a big net to collect makerel when they have been pushed to the surface by Bass etc..
