If I rewrote Harry Potter in Spanish, left half the story out and then got a random French bloke to translate into Latin and then a Greek to put it back to English, would it be worth reading in comparison to the original? That’s exactly what these men did and more importantly, they had something very real to gain from putting what served the narrative and kept control of the masses.

I don’t disagree with that point at all, but as I say, I think what you say gets used to rubbish having a faith and I believe having a faith is a different thing ?

I think it depends on your understanding of the word "conspiracy". If you take it literally, as "more than one person conspiring to commit a crime",then I'd say the JFK assassination was definite

Because throughout history a small % of the population have controlled the rest through lies, miss information, propaganda, bribery and bullying.

And mate, having been through a time when I could and did say “how can there be a god” I totally sympathise with anyone who rejects the idea based on their own personal trauma. I have very little

Men seeing an opportunity and hijacking something good and reworking it to suit themselves is hardly surprising is it mate, it’s don’t  mean the thing they hijacked is false or irrelevant imho.

This is always the confusion between faith and organised religion, one thing has absolutely nothing to do with the other imho.

Faith in a book constructed by organised religion, made so they can profit from it and to serve organised religion ?‍♂️?‍♂️

All Christian faith is based upon the council of Nicaeas Bible mate. Hence it’s faith based bollocks. Organised religion was founded to perpetuate that bollocks. Circles ⭕️ Do I hold Christian values? Yep! Do I believe in God? No! When people profess their faith based upon a book that isn’t even a full version… ?‍♂️?

I thinks it's the UAE charts

No, my daughter in law and grandson live in Saudi Arabia, and I can guarantee there is no synagogues, temples or churches there, only mosques !

As far as I'm aware, it's the same in the UAE, but I could be mistaken ?

Cheers.

If men changed things to suit there agenda doesn't take away the fact that it was still wrote down mush.

And what if the parts missing said “The following events are fictional, any relation to real or actual persons or events past or present is purely coincidental” ?

So are you saying mush that something cannot be translated from one language to another?

Never perfectly hence why most of the world hold French as the perfect legalese. Because it is so precise.

but what we are discussing here is not just about translation besides the fact that most of the languages were dead by the time Constantine and the Bishops got together. You have to understand that it was translated from completely non related languages. It’s almost impossible to be accurate.

For example..

‘Tengo ambre’ means I am hungry. The literal translation would be ‘I have hunger’. Now I know what it means so I can use my judgment to translate it to English. When you have thousands of documents/pages the translation creep kicks in. Which means it’s no longer a pure translation but my interpretation of what was. And that’s just between one language mate.

My personal opinion is that the bible is the clearest map of humanity there has ever been, it’s an undeniable fact that if the world lived by it the world would be a much better place…..

Imho “God” is a word that is used to give form to something the human mind couldn’t otherwise comprehend….it’s just too massive.

Do I believe in “God” ?……well I see “God” (whatever “God” is) everywhere…….it’s right in front of our face.

That is completely  separate from the “Idiots guide how to live” that is better known as The Bible.

The bible (imho) simply says “You have been given something wonderful by a power way beyond us, here is how not to f**k it all up…..The End !”

It would have saved a shit load of paper if they got me to translate ! Lol ?

Tbf I can be a bit blunt on this topic. Past trauma of being indoctrinated ?

True story, when I first moved here and I was with the Mexican girl, I didn’t speak a word of Spanish. Walked into the cathedral during mass and suddenly knew everything being said like a bloody native.

I have very little time for organised religion, for the most part I find it disgusting in its heartlessness and hypocrisy……but I have a faith.

I give myself over to knowing it will always be too massive for me to grasp but hey, maybe that’s the nature of faith ?

Im not trying to prove my “point” ( I don’t have one! Lol ) but I just find the conversation interesting ?
