Ken's Deputy 4,460
I've gotten really quite 'into' my crickets I treat them well, keeping an eye on their simple requirements and they thrive like fukk now. They're thus sort of rewarding. Kind of amusing too, in their limited way. I mean, there's not really much a cricket can do, to entertain us. But, they're sure more interesting than mealworms. Mealworms are tedious as fukk. They just pupate, for a pass time. Then hatch into useless beetles. Crickets just grow and build up their nutritional value. On reflection? Crickets or a goldfish? Crickets, all the way

Ken's Deputy 4,460
Yeah. I just got a toad I feed on then here, mate. In all honesty? I really can't see it happening, breeding them for bait. Just way too much trouble for the pinch of useful returns. It's why I don't mess about, trying to breed these ones. Hell, the space, time, faffing about? Ye'd really need to be doing it on a commercial basis, or else it'd be an economic sink hole.

Ken's Deputy 4,460
I reckon chick peas would make a fair bait, wouldn't they? Easier to deal with than crickets.

An old mate of mine used to work for a couple of delivery companies, and now and again he'd ring me up up to go with him when he was delivering crickets to some pet shops. Couple of times, things went a tad awry, resulting in crickets all over the back of his van lol.
