That's true mate is this the cockers or labs. Because the cocker i used to have was a nightmare for them kind of spikey sticky buds. Once her ears was that full of them on the inners an outers. An a do believe shaving a cocker just fucks there coats like it does terriers I always strip them alot better. But you can't do that to a cocker can you.

Yes you can strip a cocker my mate does his takes a bit longer than a terrier but it can be done and both cockers and labs have double coats helps to keep the cold off them when swimming

I have seen plenty of terriers open up when the scents strong when  cover that was really thick the runners naturally knew we're to be it was a blessing at times .I have seen bushers of all shapes sizes and crosses do a very good job not just terriers

You wont touch a good terrier for bushing even the spaniel x terriers wont touch a good straight terrier. And youll find most good killing terriers are silent

Wish my little Russell yapped in cover but he prefers to be silent as it’s normally just him coming out of cover with stuff

What do you want him to yap for ? If there's something there you'll know because he'll show interest in the cover..But you will already know that with him being your dog. Its frustration an excitement that makes them yap.

Am just on about the terrier pushing quarry out of the cover into open ground for the lurcher.  Terriers generally bushing for rabbits in the cover few runs without having to use the ferrets.
