Might be more suitable if you’re having to pass up shots with hmr? Just a thought. I’ve actually got a HW97 which I specifically bought for this permission in mind but it just felt so limited and underpowered compared to the rimfire I know when shoot the CZ I’m probably going to hit the target and it’s going to die, but I haven’t got the confidence in the HW97 something in between the two would be ideal. Yerr, that’s what I was thinking. Probably best with a pre-charged, running at about 30-40ft lbs would be good. They will knock rabbits over out to eighty yards plus. 1 1 Quote Link to post
FLATTOP 4,624
Seven must be my lucky number a couple of hours this evening 3 in one field and a 4 in another 14 in two evenings, second pic they were quite young but leave them and as you know they get big and wise up, the damage that’s been done is bad I’ve always concentrated on the lower part of the farm which is divided by a road and I’ve had it under control, somebody else was meant to be doing the top part but he’s gone awol and was obviously not on top of it, so I’ve taken over and my tally is building steadily. 7 Quote Link to post
FLATTOP 4,624
I don’t normally go out until after the fields are cut, but took a drive over the farm the other evening to see what was about I couldn’t believe how many rabbits that were about, one field in particular which I’ve been hitting over winter was full of them, so I took a wander for a couple of hours this evening, I shot nine but lost one in the veg I missed a couple as well was a really nice evening to be out, the 27” bipod really came in handy tonight what with the veg being so high at the moment. here’s a few pics. 6 Quote Link to post
FLATTOP 4,624
A little wander earlier before it started pissing down, rabbits are about and I knocked over a few it was nice sitting there with a bit of warmth on my face won’t be long before it’s a jungle out there with all this rain. 5 Quote Link to post
FLATTOP 4,624
Couple of hours this evening accounted for four but it should have been seven I’ve either got wonky eyes or my scope needs a tweak, lovely evening to be out I see a few ducks flying over and was surrounded by pheasants calling also with a constant song bird chorus going on. 3 Quote Link to post

FLATTOP 4,624
Gave the rimfire a good clean and checked zero @100yds today for the coming season, it was a bit all over the place to start as it always is after a clean and then settled down, almost a 15 year old gun still hitting the spot. Powerful little round two layers of plywood straight through and out the other side. Quote Link to post

FLATTOP 4,624
I haven’t posted on this thread for ages as most people have deserted the shooting section but I thought I would post a hunting post seeing as it’s a hunting site lol, out today and shot 10 the pic doesn’t tell the whole story as different parts of the farm they were shot, a lot of young ones about but they all eat winter wheat so all fair game, my last 3 outings I’ve had 25 and there’s loads more about to have a go at I will be going out again this week to see if I can get a good run going, after a bit of a dry spell I have had a few issues with my scope but I have changed it to a Hawke and it seems to be doing the business some good distances as well so long may it continue. 2 Quote Link to post
FLATTOP 4,624
Out again this evening for a few hours I accounted for another 8 well 9 I know I hit it but went to pick it up and gone very strange lol, guns shooting really well at the moment and I’m getting some real long shots that are quite satisfying when you hit them. 1 Quote Link to post
