Better to use asprin than paracetamol :good:

Doseage depends upon the size of the dog, and only give it once per day when they have something on their stomach.

A book called, The dogs drug store, has a guide in for all human meds you can use for dogs.

Arnica is a good natural remedy for bruising....really works.

I have used ibuprofen a lot of times with mine with not adverse effects only given 2 a day to a dog wieghing 24 kgs .

Brufen should only be given once per day Boris, its the long term effects not short term which cause the problesm....Asprin can be given every 8 hrs so is a better pain management. I would avoid ANYTHING with paracetamol in it as it affects dogs livers.

This might help re-doseages...

Moll how do the drugs compare with what we have in this country, as the book was produced in USA by an American professor. Or is it just basic medication it talks about.

Very interesting tho and would like to get hold of a copy myself.

Cheers bob

Theres a few places you can get meds online if you need them this lot do some or when you are on your hols get the ones that are safe for dogs , Lots of countrys abroad dont have the draconian laws you have in the uk and you can get what you require from a chemist , Something to look out for on your hols .

aspirin is fine in the right dosage, the book molly has mentioned is a good buy for anyone with dogs.

ive used arnica and i believe it works, this has reminded me that i need to get some more,i used the last of it when i had toothache last year :clapper:

i also now consider derma-gel an essential first-aid item for dogs and our horse.
