AIRGUNNER 1
Not many anglers can lay claim to catching a 100lb carp but English lady Annabel Worthington can after banking a massive 132lb Giant Siamese carp, the world’s largest of the species ever caught by a female angler. Fishing on 15th January in Bungsamran Lake in Bangkok, Thailand, Annabel warmed up for the huge fish by first catching a few 40lb Mekong cats before she had the only run of the day on the carp rods from a heavily baited marginal swim. mackem 26,930
Fished there mate, loads of times, dont go with jean-francoise helias though, hire your gear there and do your own thing, you will catch just as many fish and save yourself £+ a day Quote Link to post
mackem 26,930
Thats got to be the IGFA record though as those things go up to 300+,as for the cats 40lb'ers are common, most days you catch a few,20'lbers are an irritant as its a fish a cast, wait till you see an arapaima swirl on the top Quote Link to post
AIRGUNNER 1
Ok thanks for the advice mackem Quote Link to post
mackem 26,930
No probs mate, loads of firms springing up offering fishing at that particular lake(because of the size, density, and accessability)they offer "Packages" you can fish there including bait for a fiver, the firms charge you approx £100 a day including their "secret" baits(coconut milk soaked breads or fish pellets)get a £400 quid flight, jump in a taxi,I took 5'lb tc spod rods and big pit reels, mostly over there they use uptiders, heavy duty cat rods, and multipliers.
