Note to self, never lend bobdown your chainsaw ????

If you want to be quiet it is amazing what these little hand saws will go through and quickly aswell

25 degrees inside and all for the coast of a drop of petrol and 10 mins work can’t beat it ?

My rat smoker. I know it's massive and over engineered....but 40 years old and starts first time.

Stihls, just like Honda lawn movers are brilliant. They will be the only thing running after a nuclear war

Im looking for 1

Might cost a few quid to get one across the water to you though. Would be OK if we were coming across hunting but don't think it's happening this year

I'm looking at getting a new chainsaw...been looking at the makita ones because I have all the batteries, chargers ect already,  it appears they do two different types , one with the traditional type  key chain tensioner and one with  a tooless chain tensioner, so my question to the chainsaw experts , which one? ...I have read the traditional type is often preferred as the wrench offers greater leverage to tighten to the desired level of tension.

I took the plunge,  im more than happy,  great bit of kit, plenty of poke ,I  done a battery test, I managed to cut 30x 6in-12in rounds in one cycle ....doing bigger stuff some of it nearly 3ft I got 8 solid cuts ,  better than I expected, plenty for my needs.

!!THE REAL LUMBER JACKING EXPERIENCE!!!!

Chippychonga 0.2

As I climb the highest peaks of the tallest mountains, I scale through dense pine forests and ferocious bear inhabited wildernesses, I find myself cold, hungry and alone…. As I add my last two remaining 5amp lithium ion makita batteries to my brand new makita duc353z chainsaw, snap back the lock system and press that safety button. With the chain dripping non fling dolmar chain oil. I stare at the last standing ash tree as it stares right back at me, my hands starts to shake as I here the brushless motor kick in. The battle begins…. Attacking the last standing ash tree my sweat starts to pour my feet readjust clamping me closer to the Earths core, ash leaves raining down on my sweat covered face as the trunk starts to crack under the heavy weight of this magnificent fraxinus excelsior. CRASH!!! down it comes with choking dust covering the air for a 5 mile radius. As I just appear beyond the dust with the 190kg truck in my right shoulder and my smoking makita du535z chainsaw looking happy with its job dangling from my left hand still cooling down from how hot we both looked attacking the ash tree. I never needed that wood. Sometimes destiny just takes you down a path you can’t return. Am homeless man once told me it was love, I say it’s fight fate. Thanks again makita and Screwfix your the child i always wanted..

Just looked on Amazon, they £79 now or am looking at a different model. Thinking of giving one a punt, like you say to keep in the back of my old banger dogging bus. Just for out and about collecting logs here and there. Also one of them collapsible buggy things. So you rate it Greyman ? Cheers
