yeah its barbaric to cut the ears off of the greyhounds, but if they are shot humanley whats the problem ??? like i said on another post , to many dogs are in kennels now, and never rehomed what happenes if they arnt rehomed ?? they end up being put to sleep. and as for that smith bloke correct me if im wrong but he was in the papers a few years back and he didnt stun them and buried them alive he shot them,.

one of the main anti racer charitys was found to be doing some of the extreme abuse pics to highlight!!!! now thats sick!!! i hate the thought of any healthy dog being pts but i wish someone could answer me this , "where would all the racers go if it was banned 100%? " underground thats where and then you would see cruelty!!! or 100,ooo`s of dogs pts simply as there are not enough homes to go around!!!

 

id rather see a dog pts then go through years of being stuck in unsuitable kennels in the name of "rescue" , whether you agree with mr smiths way of doing things or not , think of it this way , these dogs were used to going in and out of kennel blocks , similar to smiths set up , they are relaxed efore the deed was done, now take any dog to the vets to e pts , they go in and are on edge, then the hair is clipped and then a sharp needle inserted, then feeling themselves lose consoiusness, how many of the old working men put their own dogs down by the gun , breaking their heart as they done it? oh no that a sweet tale of a man loving his dog? no different in my eyes?

 

the racing industry is now getting better for all concerned , amny trainers will take it on themselves to rehome rather than pts on owners request, these should e highlighted and praised not always tarred with the same brush as the ad un`s out there , there are bad lurcher/terriers owners out there too but those of us who hold our dogs in high esteem still take the flack from the no marks whom think we are cruel

well to me it looks like the black dog with his ears cut off is far from dead, i should say shoot the b*****ds who do such things to such glorios animals and althoug not a fan off putting healty animals to sleep do it with dignity and dont treat them like a rag but thats only my humble opinion

my dad had the vet come out to put his bitch to sleep , she didnt go straight away she keep gasping , he said it was horrible to watch, and would never do it again, he felt like it wasnt quick enough, its like little lurcher said the dogs were probly more relaxed than being in a veternairy surgery, and ther fate was quicker, what i cant under stand is if your done with a dog, if your cold hearted enough to cut the ears off then why not just shoot it??

Ive got a soft spot for greyhounds, Ive got one at the moment that came from a trainer that did care about his dogs, the pictures of the dogs that have had there ears hacked off made me feel sick, How can anyone do that to a dog

In an ideal world, i would rather my dog was pts from behind eating a huge bowl of its favourite food.

I dont want its last emotion to be fear as it would be if i had a vet do it.

i could not agree more with you than some vets are a bad representetif of there occupation

and a bullet is the quickest way to end it in a ideal world but it isnt un ideal world

I didn't watch the vid, I can imagine what it's like. The ears are tattooed and if someone plans to dump the dead dog in a ditch it can't be traced back to them if the ears are gone!

Have to say I enjoy going to the greyhoud racing dont see any thing wrong in culling greyhounds,lurchers, terrires or what ever that dont make the grade so long as its done humanley I for one would not support any ban on greyhound racing never will in fact I think Ill go twice a week instead of once a week
