Lot to be said for the burqa. For ugly or fat women it should be compulsory.

Shocking

Theres something to be said for 'male only' and 'female only' meeting places.  Lots of societies seem to favour that arrangement. Personally I miss the 'male only' bars.

I like the story about the jock  in a bar quietly supping his pint. Some posh Englishmen enter the bar and say "Good evening".

The jock snarls: "I came here to drink Jimmy, no tae f****n talk".?

Pubs used to be about getting away from women and kids. There's no escape now.?

Worse

The working men's clubs allways had a no women rule for the bar, until the equalities act came out.

Some of the private clubs tried to hold out, but most gave up and allowed women to become "associate members".

I remember when Carters Wine Lodge in Newcastle had a women only lounge, and a Labour Club on the outskirts had a men only bar and a women only lounge.

Now you can't get moved in most bars and clubs for kids running around !

Cheers.

My mate used to work in a con club in Wales, used to go in and have a few pints and a game of snooker, women were allowed upstairs or in lounge. It worked it was a different atmosphere, and many of the old boys were allowed to go because their wives knew it was for snooker and there wouldn't be any fraternising with women, had a great bar steward from West Wales , but when he went the new management wanted women throughout, what women actually wanted to go in the place I'll never know but seemed like the last bastion for a quiet afternoon...

Also the number of women's only groups only grow , so it seemed somewhat unfair. But things change , don't always view it for the better though...

It always makes me chuckle when you hear blokes who probably have either a great big derby hanging out the front like me or piles or thinning hair and more liver spots than a German Pointer talk about “ugly women” ! Lol

In my time as a single bloke I dated in no particular order:

A bird with one arm !

A deaf and dumb girl

A skin head girl with more tats than Ragnor!

A 50 something divorcee who was about 18 stone (also her daughter at the same time !)

Life is a smorgasbord lads….you have to sample stuff and looks don’t alway make for a nice person.

The only one I think I’d have drawn a line at was “Blitzkrieg” who was about 30 stone, stunk of piss and chip fat and used to deliver the national front newspaper to my shop ! Lol ?

Was at a function  Saturday , 99.9 percent males , young serving girl slipped and dropped a few glasses off a tray and smashed them .

all the alpha males , balls deep into singing a Taylor swift song after boozing from lunchtime , immediately launched into a very rugbyesqe song about “what did we bring you for , one job , useless etc”

I took the tray off her asked if she was alright took it to the kitchen and brought back a dustpan

Being a gentleman takes nothing but she said thanks again this morning on the way into work .

Now the fact she wasn’t a particularly attractive girl was the reason i think . If she’d have been a kardashian she would have have been dodgy all the heroes coming to help her . I just seen a lady who was working minimum wage on a Saturday getting ridiculed .

if that’s what happens in bars of “men” , I’ll sit with my wife on the couch all day long

Two of the best places I used to drink in, many years ago, were Conservative Clubs, one in Wallsend and one in Byker, Newcastle.

They'd both be full of Labour voting shipyard workers, who cared more about a decent, cheap pint, than politics ! ?

Cheers.

Men only bars weren't about exclusion or hostility and definitely not bullying. They were about camaraderie and identity. In the old days men had more respect afforded them. Nowadays, if you've got a cock, you are seen as a potential sex offender who is mysoginistic, and a threat to society. With all this blurring of lines, men don't quite know who they should be. Nothing wrong in a accepting that men and women have different interests and abilities. The likes of Loose Women, soaps, Love Island and Reality TV in general leaves me feeling genuinely confused. WTF are they about? I don't want to know about hormones, varicose veins menstruation and the menopause.

Now talking football, snooker, boxing, dogs, fishing, f****n prostate glands, a bit of politics, a few wind ups and a lot of black humour (thats not what you think it means Wilf) is my idea of a good night out. Whats wrong with that?

DISCLAIMER: No women, children or pets were harmed in this thread. Any references to the disabled, the non heterosexual, the LGBT community, the Pakistani or the Afro Carribean community were not intended  to hurt or offend.

As for Kurt Zouma's cats. I fully appreciate that the animals are much better off in a cage care of the RSPCA. I fully support an organisation which dresses in para -police clothing seizing cats with no legal authority. I now retract my previous statements in which I said that cats have a spine which is extremely flexible and do not suffer pain when landing awkwardly form a playfully cushioned drop kick. I now appreciate that the cats suffered considerable psychological distress and face a future life of mental torment. I apologise, I am so sorry, MEA f****n CULPA! (Im bored sick.?)
