I hope you both have a good bank holiday. :victory:

Well there's a first time for everything but I'll take it ...thanks ?

I think after years of arguing on the Internet it more a case of knowing when not to speak  ?

It’s funny I’ve been on this site a long while and I quite like it my only social media, I think arguing with strangers people you’ve never met is like arguing with yourself totally pointless but nonetheless entertaining to watch on the sidelines ?

That's all we can do, comment on what we've been told is actually happening.

Russia are stalling but do you think it was going to be over in a flash especially with the indirect help from NATO?

Maybe the Ukraine is stronger than perceived, they have been sold short.

what we are seeing isn’t what’s happening i don’t think

we’re sinking money in left right center taking more strains in on our country

the world is seeing the dollar is shit and buying land with it etc will just get took by sanctions it’s worthless

zelensky saying 96 percent of building are ruined

i think it’s going exactly how russia want it to go

he's talking about Mariupol  with 96% of buildings being damaged/destroyed,  it small as cities go  460k population  but probably the key most strategic place for putin to take, the Russians have thrown the kitchen sink at it and it's still not 100% under Russian control but I expect that it will fall soon but that's no shame to Ukrainians they have given their all for Mariupol.

As for going all the Russians way

Demilitarization  ... even if all  Ukraine's  arms manufacturing  capabilities are taken out Ukraine now has a seemingly endless supply from the west and the Russian aggression has single handedly weponised millions of Ukrainian civilians...failed

Denazification ....if Ukraine  was nazi  then Denazification would mean taking  Kyiv and removing the current government  and installing a new regime...failed.

Securing east/south Russian separatist regions....no buffer zone achieved therfore they are still open to  artillery attacks ..failed

Stopping the over reach of NATO ... more neighbouring countries want and will join NATO  than ever before now ....Failed

Russia has taken some big losses to achieve very little upto this point

At this point  the Special military operation...can only be described as a catastrophic failure.

they may well turn it round but the longer it goes the less likely that is.

just flattening places rarely pays off as a win...Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan...

That’s a good summary. I obviously think Russia has f****d up in many ways but Id argue that they now occupy the separatist regions and secured Crimea via a land bridge. Which was a bare minimum strategic aim.

I think it’s quite likely that Ukraine will not join NATO now either? Looking for security guarantors from other European states in any peace deal. I’d argue that’s hardly a Russian victory though, Ukraine will see more every day type support from NATO members now than it would’ve if Russia just let it join. Putin didn’t want NATO cruise missiles in Ukraine, well now NATO will just help Ukraine build their own!

Yes, they have the land bridge which will hinder Ukrainian exports. But at what future cost? That long slender corridor will be a death trap for Russian soldiers and convoys for years.

The deadline for the remaining Mariupol forces to surrender or die  has passed with no surrender , Zelensky saying if they are slaughtered all negotiations are off.

What happens if Ukraine just say no to Russia's demands and string this out?
