True story,I met two Africans years ago, one had been a student doctor in Poland, the other a vet, both told me stories of the 1980's in Poland, getting beaten up on a regular basis without provocation, seriously far-right (I just checked on LinkedIn, the vet now has practises in Hull and Poland, he has done OK), Poland back then wasn't a good place to be for a POC.

The black inhabitants of these countries will be absolutely minuscule compared to somewhere like the UK mate, guaranteed.

A lot of them go over there to study medicine, started back in the USSR days. I can't imagine there's a thriving African-Ukrainian community though

Believe it or not I met the vet and the doc in London, Isle of dogs I kept in touch as they were really interesting characters, they used to get booted all over the street in Poland though, punched in the face for nowt. 

I met a Nigerian once, larger than life character, a few years later I flicked the telly on as background noise, my ears pricked up and my jaw hit the floor, there he was, large as life and certainly twice as ugly on my f***ing telly documentary on him and his multi-million quid fraud scheme

As we watch the war in Ukraine dragging on when it was expected to be all over in a few days, at least by the Russians, and the Biden regimes warning coming to pass from build up to invasion in spite of the cat calls from their deriders, I thought I might type a few words of comment.

I’m unsurprised with the usual suspects penning the expected rhetoric such as the right wing/QAnon types and media outlets pushing the Russian party line that they were forced into invading by NATO and the EU but I also see the far left also following that line. To my mind, old and slow as it may be, both the extremes seem to miss any regard to history. Just look to Russia’s actions in Hungary and Czechoslovakia in the 50’s and 60’s to recent incursions into Crimea along with threats to countries like Poland, Finland etc. When these acts are taken into consideration its not surprising counties wish to find protection. And remember the Biden regime warns of the likely risk of Putin using chemical weapons, they have been right so far! Then we should consider if countries are bullied into joining NATO? I would appear to a be a voluntary organisations that countries can join or leave at their own regard, as has France in the past, so one must question the idea of bullying from NATO or the EU, in fact Russia considered joining as recently as 2017.. The only force I see being used is Russian and that for expansion rather than self defence but if that force leads to a stronger NATO and Europe than at least we have a small positive out of this despicable war.
