Born Hunter 17,798
That sort of attitude isn't uncommon over here. Certain groups feel superior to others and protect their own sport by vilifying ones they see as less ethical. Very few people will have any real life exposure to safari/trophy/big game hunting and the mainstream narrative is pure hate, so you'll find a lot of folk into fieldsports turn into anti's with this. It's rife in fishing. Which is ironic because it'd be the easiest sport to sab.

Yeah 100% the arguments I've had with fisherman over the years. It's also ironic because catch and release fishing is actually one of the more difficult sports to defend from a moralistic point of view. 3
gamerooster 1,179
When you speak to a lot of the eastern European lads who fish for the table over here they think catch and release is cruel. And I tend to agree with them. Dragging something around by its mouth to then release it is a pointless activity in my eyes. But I'd still stand by it even though most who fish wouldn't stand by fieldsports. There's as much of a culture divide in fishing as there is anything, call me old fashioned but I fish to sea fish, coarse and game with the same spinning rod, no mad tackle here.
