Why do I have a feeling that this thread is going to produce very little ?

Well, you have done a bit in a fair amount of Europe, and I think you've lived/worked/hunted in the Antipodes, and as you say, you know the score, so I don't think you will get any further, relevant information on here, unless there's members from other countries that you're interested in that may give you some up to date travel or hunting regulations. ?

Cheers.

I guess I’m thinking back to a time when there would have been several members on here who had gone over and done various bits. Really interested in some french / Spanish / Dutch coursing, would like to beat on a Monteria, go bushing with podencos, hunt pigs anywhere, bush or dig foxes anywhere, lamp anything ? would love to do some bits in Scandinavia as never hunted there.

I have been thinking about setting something up for dog lads from the uk for a while, I’m meeting with the mayor this week about looking in to renting hunting rights from council owned land, which there is a lot of and it’s relatively cheap, I have accommodation, for around 5 people, so it’s a possibility for the future and something I’d like to do. There are red, fallow, ibex, mouflon, wild boar and the odd roe in the hills around here

I don’t use Facebook, maybe I’ll have to. Lived out there for years abs there is some great hunting

I've found it useful to get outside of the normal circle and like all things it is up to you how you use it, lots of crap but you accept who you want and join where you like..

I wouldn’t worry too much about that. Have hunted with dogs in France, Spain, Hungary, Slovakia etc etc. Forget the ‘official line’.

You ever been in arrested in Eastern Europe? Its easy to say not official line but poaching /breaking laws over there not the same as getting told off by nice Mr police man here in UK.

You get nicked for running stuff with dogs your off to jail unless you got lots of ££££ or in the no with well to do folk .

Yes I actually have mate ?

I lived in Hungary for a few years and also Czech Republic, Slovakia and Bosnia for little stints.

What I meant re the law - is that although on paper in some country’s, some things are illegal, there is still a thriving culture of hunting with dogs, especially in the rural areas.

Hungary is a good example of that!

What languages do u speak Sheepy

Genuine question like ?

Nothing fluently ?

But can get by in English, french and German, and understand a lot of Welsh.

And used to speak half decent Hungarian, serbo-Croat and a bastardised Slavic patter made up of Slovak, polish and similar ? now it’s a bit rusty but I’d pick it up quick again.

Then odd phrases in a lot of others, usually related to women, and beer.

That is true, but people from said countries maybe do not want to go on a public forum and incriminate themselves... ?

I stay often in rural poland and you can get away with a lot of stuff and the wildlife is abundant. Roe, Hare, Boar, Rabbits, you name it.
I myself am a little bit hesitant to run my dog (whippet cross) there because right by our property lives a wolf pack, which has around 15 members.

In the countries you mentioned wolfs should be a given, too. Are the people not afraid for their dogs? You hear some real horror stories over there, wolfs having fun killing hunting dogs and so on...
