He wrote it after disturbing a mouse's nest with the plough ,it is in part an apology to the mouse and an acknoledgement that the same thing is true of mice and men, if it can go tits up ,it will .

Sat in one of my most favourite restaurants last night and in bowls this madman blowing into a vacuum cleaner ?....now im all for tradition and culture and dont want to sound ignorant but whats it all

No, I will continue my missionary work here in the uncivilised North of the country. So far I've managed to get them to walk on two legs instead of all fours. The more intelligent ones I ve taught to

It's a celebration of the jocks' national poet Robert ( Rabbie ) Burns. Takes place every January in the form of a dinner/ booze up. A haggis is piped in and a Burns poem is recited celebrating the haggis. Its all a bit jockilly anal. Do you remember " We're on the march wi Allys army"/ were all going to Argentine/And we'll really shake the up/ When we win the world cup ? We'll its a bit like that. The Scots have this image of themselves of sleeping world beaters, and on Burns night they get together in fancy dress and tell each other how wonderful they are. "Heres tae us/ whaes like us?" is a toast you hear over and over. Harmless enough but a bit tedious when you're not a jock and have to listen to their drunken  master race rantings.

A straight explanation at last thankyou sir.........he went through a few different numbers " Flower of Scotland " i recognised...." Long road to Tipperary " but " Auld Lang Sine " ( spelling ? )....i always thought was an English thing maybe im wrong....he also went off in some mad dialect that everyone was just looking around shrugging their shoulders at the Jocks never had their own language did they ...or did they ?......i smelled a rat when i saw " Haggis " was on the menu.....what made it even more uncanny was that after his little performance an Abba tribute act took to the stage ?....what a peculiar evening !

Auld Lang Syne was written by Burns. To be fair he did write some cracking poems. He also did a lot shagging in his brief time. They did have their own language but we banned it as it was thought to encourage rebellion.
