poxon 5,724
Looks like a puncher wound rather than a cut tbh if do don’t know what your doing it’s better to go to the vets to flush it out least they can make sure there no shit still in there an give you some antibiotics to stop infection 1 Quote Link to post
Moocher71 4,049
Like been said you can flush it out with salt water but like poxon says if you don't no what you doing it's better off going vets ,of course that will cost but I'd rather put me hand in me pocket and no me dog looked after as wounds can soon turn gammy How's it happen ? Looks quite deep in that pic and like been said a puncture wound . Quote Link to post
dogmandont 9,802
Flushed and kept clean and that will heal with no problems. Quote Link to post
dytkos 17,784
Tbh, I'd treat it like a wound you had yourself. Get some antiseptic spay after you've flushed it out properly. Savlon healing gel (not the cream, it's slower to work) clean and reapply twice a day, don't see the need for vets, vets would charge you £80+ If your gonna be working the dog you need to be able to do the basics. Hope the dog is ok Cheers, D. 3 Quote Link to post
Tyla 3,179
I'd want that flushed and stapled personally. If you don't know how to do it vets the easiest option 2 Quote Link to post
C.green 3,229
Allways thought you wasnt meant to staple stuff that went into layer of muscle ? Thats when you go down the route of dissolvable sutures or would it be fine stapling something like that 2 Quote Link to post
Havelightforcewilltravel 417
A wouldn’t staple it keep flushing and pack with makuna honey or wound powder want it to heal from inside out over. 10 Quote Link to post
