Anyone had any trout yet this year me and my dad had one each from aire in Leeds so far

Think it’s March rivers close for 2 weeks then it’s trout season we were after big chub as I’m trying for a 7 pounder this year had loads of 5s and few 6s but no 7 yet

Nice fish them. Always fancied a bit of wild trout fishing. Up in the hills. Used to go as a kid and been doing some research the last couple of days

Went back mate, there's tons of them constantly jumping out when bass fishing, some real big ones too, but hook up to land ratio isn't great.

Managed first sea trout of the season on Saturday night, about 2.5lb, also lost a salmon of about 8lb, on fly before dark.

River wear is just up from you, rated one of the top sea trout rivers in the UK, Durham stretch used to be free, might still be, I had a couple of double figure seatrout from the river as a kid.
