I've never had permission to course hares, even before the ban. Its allways been illegal for me, so no change. Will a magistrate put a 70 year old man who's dog run off and chased a big rabb

It's all but over for average lurcher owners, sure there'll be the die hards that will carry on regardless but normal lads that made up the majority are getting out of the game for one reason or anoth

Also i find the fens alot safer than getting pulled in my area. The fenland police are used to dealing with coursing they are clear on where they stand. Round where i am you never know what there gonna do and they take great pleasure in siezing your dogs ect.

Where abouts you based mate. It's true they can have abit of banta over there with you. But they say there's a handful who they know really well that just take the piss an are hitting the same areas of the fens. Once I've been pulled on land by the law am not going back its just not worth it when I've got away with it once ,  I've learnt that in other walks of life. Am 40 year old done some wrong doing in my younger days which I'm not proud of. " But you learn from your mistakes an try an educate the younger ones out there "  Some listen some don't. Now I'm a family man it's all about family and rather go down the easy route in life. Last time a was locked up was a driving offence 6 months it broke me an that was due to me having two sons at home not being at home with them an the misses. Before they came along a wouldn't give too fucks. So I'm defo not going to jail for a few big ears f**k that lol. A really did think 10 years ago operation galileo would been under carpet by now an government pulled it. But with there clowns braying land owners an other shite that goes on in the area choring Yorkshire stone flags an led of roofs which that happens every where but there still staying in the area because of things like that guys so it's not worth it.

Will a magistrate put a 70 year old man who's dog run off and chased a big rabbit in jail ? I doubt it.

Going team handed to course hares, hundreds of miles away is a different story.

Stay lucky, lads ?

Cheers.

The real thing of note in those new powers is the “unlimited fine” bit…..they won’t stick you in nick but they will take your house !
Any excuse to clean someone’s pocket out these days mate.

Just come back from an enjoyable mornings ratting, only to see the north wests reginal Wildlife Officer's Land Rover parked on the field infront of my house.

He was talking to one of the local gundog trainers, that use the fields around here. The Mrs said he'd been up and down all morning, pulling vans & 4x4's parking up or driving through.

They know they've got more power behind them, and are gonna flex their muscle over the next few months....

Worded wrong but the point i'm making is that alongside the new laws, we will probably see an increase in Police action. They'll want to make some examples early on i recon...

In my opinion, that Officer is an embarrassment to his profession..

Considering the awful crimes that are being committed, day in, day out,.. what actual policing work did he do ?

Ah yes, he found out that a working dog had not been injected, with an identity chip!

The remainder of his amazing capture, was childishly easy..

The trespasser freely admitted to the offence and caused him no problems...

Why not save all the paperwork, and simply tell him to gather up his ferrets and nets, and get the feck off the land...

What must his colleagues think of him....

Yes, I know the Law is the Law,.. but c'mon now...FFS!
