Blair rode a wave of disaffected Tories to power after Black Wednesday, I don't think they were hoping for a socialist government! Don't agree with all of that. Back then Labour was a shambles, had lost their financial backing and the Tories had their snouts deep in the trough. Much like today actually. Bliar created a new party from the ashes of the old Labour party, but had little socialist policies. However, by having 'Labour' in the name of the party and taking over the Labour Party structure it must have attracted plenty of traditional Labour voters too thick to see through it.

jukel123 8,778
There's a petition on change.org organised by the mothers of servicemen who needlessly perished in Iraq. They want the award cancelled. I've signed. He should be in jail along with a lot of others. Any awards should go to those who opposed the war, like Robin Cook who stood up in the commons and denounced the decision to enter the war
