philpot 4,967
No you are right Mitch, this is for short range maybe upto 35mt around the farm buildings and rat perms otherwise I would be using fac which is the norm. Phil 1 Quote Link to post

philpot 4,967
After a bit of research and a chat with Mitch regarding a new scope for my P35, I decided to buy a Discovery VT-Z 3-12 x 40 FFP / SF. The scope arrived yesterday and I must say first impressions are really good with very clear and sharp glass. I have just done a basic zero in the garden which was spot on, A nice centre spot is really good for target sighting and now just want to get out and try on the ferals. 2 Quote Link to post

How's the p35 been treating you Phil? Will be heading to the RFD at some point to put one away for myself, just thought to ask you as there is little reviews that are helpful. Quote Link to post
philpot 4,967
I really like the P35 Jason, accurate and now a bit quieter now I tweeked the shroud mod and fitted a spare mod I had kicking around. The new Carm mags work a treat with 11 shots instead of 9 in the standard mag although quite often you can only get 8 in. Despite being very happy with the gun, I will be sending (or taking) it up your area to Mark Dempsey for a tune and replacement shroud / mod, not that it needs it but so many people have had the work done by Mark and raved about it that I simply want to have the same treatment for mine as this gun is a keeper. Phil That's just helped me confirm it, take me a few months but I'll have one, do you reckon it'll be fine for use with the 007 too? Just with it being short. 1 Quote Link to post

Might be worth a call and I must say, I cannot fault this little gun. Phil Quote Link to post

Just with it being short. If you look at the photo Jason, you will see there is a fraction less than 2'' in front of the front mount so not difficult to move the scope further forward to make space for an 007a or even better an 007s then you could even leave the 007 on all the time if this is going to be your night gun. Your call matey. In another post, I said how badly the tests had gone using an 007s with the compact size which is a real shame as that would allow me to take the 007s off when not in use and leave the scope in the normal daytime shooting position. My gripe with the original 007a was the fact that it came too far back unless the scope was moved forward so not so easy to switch between guns AND keep my head in the normal shooting position but that is your call and if it suits you, then great you are away. I am sure it's just me and I really do want a near eye nv unit as well as my nitesite, sooner or later I will find one I like. I understand Discovery have now brought an add-on for around £200 but it looks long so again the same issue as with the 007a or worse. Phil Quote Link to post

philpot 4,967
I have taken off the 'tear drop' side wheel extension as it kept catching the nitesite or when it was stood in the corner ready for the next shot, I found it stood proud of the turrets and again caught on things, it is a pity they do simply provide a 'wheel' but no great hardship using the s/f without the extension.
