An SMK 19 is really only good for a bit of tin can bashing, please for goodnes sake don't go hunting with it. Quote Link to post

A silencer can still make a difference to a springer; not as much as a good v-mach tune though. He may be good with the SMK...you never know Quote Link to post
SteveieP 0
I have the XS20 which is really just a (good) copy of the HW95K Not much use to you, but I got a silencer from Euroguns at Doncaster for £30 Trouble is, a silencer now has to be bought on a face to face transaction (when buying new) You'll need a push-on type & check the outside barrel diameter (probably 16mm) Silencers do make a downrange difference on a springer, tho you have your ear close to the noise made by the action, so it's not so noticeable to the shooter. There are gunshops in Blackpool & Bolton who'll sort you out. There's a dead woodie, who expired not 10 mins ago with a headshot who sends his regards who thanks me for the quiet & accurate manor of his demise Quote Link to post

Dawn B 212
I have the XS 20, not a problem knocking off Rabbits, squirrels and any manner of birds! Andy Foster. I have a SMK sound supressor, that I bought when I bought the SMK XS17, I have never used it, it doesnt say its specific to that rifle, Id be happy to give it to you if you think it will fit the 19. Malt 379
hi all im looking for a silancer and a bipod dose any body know were i can get these that are suitable and cheap nice1 boys and girls With all due respect mate, why do you want a silencer and a bi-pod for a springer. An SMK 19 is really only good for a bit of tin can bashing, please for goodnes sake don't go hunting with it. Can I respectfuly ask why not? I mean, I get the bit about shooting a recoiling rifle with a bi-pod but I thought that gun was full or nearly full power. Quote Link to post
SteveieP 0
As I understand it the XS19 comes in at smidge over 11fpe & the XS20 at about 11.7fpe. Unfortunately, in the past, Chinese guns have been prone to quality control issues that may naturally affect power & / or accuracy. The warning is given, because the last thing anyone wants to see is wounded quarry limping off to die in pain because you didn't get a clean kill (due to lack of accuracy or lack of power) Moreover you need to hone your skills by punching a lot of paper before you even think about pointing it at something with fur or feathers. The words of caution really mean; make sure that you & your kit are up to the task. Alternatively, the entreaty could be read as an unwarranted prejudice against all the SMK kit, but that would be an unkind interpretation.....wouldn't it? Quote Link to post

LOL! you going to try to teach me to suck eggs next, or what? I was knocking rabbits over cleanly at 35 yards with a HW35e when I was 15. Your alternative interpretation was what I was insinuating...... I've never had any experience with the gun in question, but I've heard that they're not as bad as they used to be, thats why i've asked! I've lost count of the times i've stressed the importance of a quick, clean death to the intented quarry on here, and how we as hunters should have respect for all animals at all times, even if we intend to end it's life. But if your post wasn't aimed at me, (and I've just realised at the end of this post, that you don't know me from adam! ) and you were just giving out (sound) advice in general, I'll apologise, get off my soap box and get my coat........! Ratman2 2
Very well said SteveieP, and perhaps I should have explained my post a bit better, I have nothing against Chinese guns in general and I use an XS79 for ratting, it’s very accurate and I like the gun. Up to the VCR bill nonsense I used to do quite a nice trade with the XS78’s and XS79’s. I also sold a few Chinese springers and I always fitted and zeroed the scope as part of the deal, now maybe it was just bad luck but I never managed to get better than 2†groupings at 30yds with any SMK19. Now before anyone jumps down my throat I have to say that I am a very experienced springer shooter and I’m a dedicated springer man too. I can’t knock the 19’s power but I can’t rate the accuracy. Oddly enough the gun everybody slags off, the B2, I never had an accuracy issue with one, and never had a problem with the 20 either. As I said it’s probably a run of bad luck with the 19’s but what I have said is what I experienced. Quote Link to post
Malt 379
Cheers RM2, That's exactly the sort of info I was after. So it's an accuracy problem, sound advice. Quote Link to post
