Ken's Deputy 4,459
Put that into Amazon and a whole world opens up. My own 18" or so wrecking bar vanished, the last time I had builders in Got away with their having got away with it, for a few years now. But, I'm eyeballing a couple of bits of old architrave. Door frame. Pretty much dodgy old wood. Stuck with rusted nails into old concrete. I'm not in any way 'Trade'. I'm barely a proper DIYer. Could probably get away with a hammer and big screwdriver. But, hey! Tools! Happy to chuck a score or there abouts. But. So Many!

Ken's Deputy 4,459
Cheers, mate. My bad. I should have mentioned I'm really looking for a shorter type? My 18" took the piss out of my tool bag. Stuck out too much. Stanley 'Wonder Bar', eg. seems a tad short ....? Wondering about leverage there 12, 14"? Probably about right, I'd imagine? The 14" one is really good but sometimes you need a bit more leverage, the biggest one is an absolute beast, I used it for digging out for fence posts Cheers, D. Ken's Deputy 4,459
Ah, yeah well, there we are, ye see? I had a proper, fukking great 'CroBar' for that sort of thing. About five foot pole of solid steel. Point and chisel ends. Weighed a fukking ton! Gave it to my neighbour, who I now pay to dig holes for me. Blasting away with That thing, these days, would Kill me! C.K T4312 Japanese Pry Bar 10" Caught my eye. £15? Stanley Wonder is another type. Under a tenner. Longer than it looks, at a foot or so. Those lines. Could just grab them both, I s'pose? Look probably suited to different tasks? Dunno. Just a little gap left in my tool repertoire.

Ken's Deputy 4,459
Ah. Nice work, Chid. You've finally convinced me to leave this fukking Micro SD card alone for two minutes, and actually do something fukking useful and less stressing. Like wander off and Measure my bag! Game changer! Ten inches will drop nicely into it. Twelve has a tendency to rise up. Fourteen would definitely be snagging over the side. See? So, yeah, it really is coming down to form and quality of the 'smaller' gear. Not the paint pot openers. Just the smaller bars that might still be worth the name. Forgive me. Sat here running a very tedious set of tests on a Trail Cam. Need to put it down now and then and give it a rest. Window shopping's nice.

chartpolski 23,567
As with any tool, buy the best you can afford; Buy from Poundland, get broken fingers, Buy top end, get the job done. Simple as that. Cheers.

Ken's Deputy 4,459
@chartpolski Exactly why I'm asking, mate Just trying do discern which ~ of so many similarly priced ones ~ might be the better. I must say, I'm surprised to see the support for Gorilla. I wouldn't have looked twice! Estwing goes without saying! Only, it's another 18" job and would simply be too much for my tote. Last one proved that. (God, it was irritating! Like a grazed knuckle. Know what I mean?) I'm really liking that little CK, in honesty. Right size. Got the right shapes about it. Hasn't CK always been a respected name in hand tools? I've always been happy to put them in my bag. Anyway, gave me a welcome distraction from The Devils SD Card!
