whippetking 362
Has any one ever done this type of breeding? Or ever seen any of this type? What was the first generation like? I am thinking ya wouldn't get back serious digging terriers until the 2nd generation if your would anyway? Just an idea I have for the future 1 Quote Link to post
spindolero 1,111
spoke to some lads in Ireland that had done a bull/patt x wheaton patt mating. the whole litter was dead before 3 year old - big, and only one style of working stuff 5 Quote Link to post

LuckyLamper 55
You’d probably want a few generations to get the size down for proper digging but could imagine they’d be game alright but what’s the point when the right black dogs are hard as nails anyway Quote Link to post
whippetking 362
I was not on about black dogs i am on about white dogs and I am just thinking of the idea for myself to do with the white dogs, and there is one reason for it, imo you need to add something hard every now and again unless you have a good line bred family of dogs which I have not, plus ALOT with white dogs standards are awful so as I say it's just abit of an idea for myself that I might do in the future 1 Quote Link to post

dogmandont 9,949
Dug over a couple 20 plus years ago, big lumps of things they were that couldn't be dug everywhere and were no harder than many of the black dogs I've seen since. I know a lad that has wheaten in his line of black dogs and no better terriers a man would ever need. 2 Quote Link to post

Councilestatekid 1,974
I've always preferred a nice strong Bayer who knows when to mix it been out with plenty who think they have a good dog because it gets a facefull then laid up for weeks I just don't see the point really 5 Quote Link to post
