problem is they could never impose that, we would have to go like the yanks and each have private medical insurance. most issues people face are normally technically self/work inflicted; right the way from things like smoking/ obesity to stuff like joint issues

The way I see is though is that I’m getting legislated against because of other peoples stupidity.

Ie Grebs main point seems to be surrounding passive smoking around children.

So because someone is stupid enough to breathe smoke into their babies lungs, you want to ban me having a smoke in the privacy of my own home.

Same as the fact I pay taxes like you do and I pretty much never use the NHS. I think it’s a good institution but when I genuinely need something one day and can’t because there are lots of folk in front of me in the queue who couldn’t be trusted to look after themselves eyx.

Personally I think it needs to be addressed and sooner or later societies will need to bite the political bullet, stopping people from starting in the 1st place appears to be the least restrictive way of doing it.

The the companies that sell tobacco knowing full well that it leads to pretty horrific medical outcomes also need to be tackled. One way would be to make it non profit.

To look at it from the other direction, if a company came up with a product that cause the horrors of tobacco it would never get a licence to sell. Knowingly ? putting all that DNA mutating shite into your lungs and blood stream......

Yet I’d agree that Francie is hitting it a bit hard! But smoking that vape all day every day .... I’m not sure it’s better than someone else who has the odd spliff from time to time.

Our of interest what don’t you quit vaping?

If tomorrow someone invented alcohol it would never get a licence.

I find it difficult to agree that banning things that are traditional and have a history can ever be right. I see it as a dangerous slippery slope.

What next? Banning eating meat?

I hate smoking so normally I would consider legislation that could help society.....but today, as we are increasingly told what we can and cannot do....even told what we can say....i think its another worrying step

Why?

The single greatest environmental and societal threat to us, is our exploding population. Nothing can cope with the rate it is growing. And yet we are constantly trying to make everyone live as long as possible and reproduce endlessly.

2.4 + 1.9 billion, smoking is an expensive business.
