Not nice to see,does it wipe out local populations like myxie with rabbits sonny? I actually enjoy feeding the squirrels in the woods behind me.

With no beech or acorn mast around me this year a dose of this would all but wipe the grey population out i would think.

Trouble is, in UK; Do they not manage with it, while they spread it to the Red populations, who are more susceptible? (Pretty sure I read it goes something like that?)

Fukking horrible to see, anyway. Not many here want to see animals suffer, regardless.

I've often wondered about this. Seemingly it has only been documented the last say ten years in UK. Has it always been in populations this side of the waters? Has it come in, in recent years? How? Why hasn't there been cases of sick grey squirrel documented here? Why do the experts say that it doesn't really affect greys, and here we see otherwise? Something don't add up

Too many question marks for me there, Eddie. But, use of the term " Experts " puts up a Big red flag, doesn't it?

I'm in one of the last places we have reds and I hope it wipes out every grey in the country and gives the reds a chance.

The problem round here is all land is part of shoots which 99% of the time have a keeper who's a jumped up little helmet who don't actually control vermin.

In the UK the Grey is "largely"  immune to the virus, but still carries it and commonly infects the Red, and so the march of Grey domination continues!
